ARTIST STATEMENT --- I always want my work to be ironic and colourful, with a nod from the past, a huge portion of sex, drugs & rock-’n-roll and with a pinch of music and freedom in it.
PRIDE
To be proud of yourself. The taboo that still lingers, only when you want to be yourself. You’re no different than any of them. In my view, everybody is equal but still unique & especially beautiful. Unfortunately, some people still have a hard time looking at this the same as I do. And unfortunately, they do not accept how other people are. I made this series because I want to give these people, who want to be themselves & can be themselves, the biggest stage ever. The taboo on people who are themselves needs to be broken! I also made a self-portrait as a Drag Queen to show people that, it doesn’t matter who or what you are, you can do and be who you want to be, as long as you believe in yourself. The background colors for this series are the colors of the rainbow flag. And of course, you can see the themes sex, drugs & rock- ‘n-roll, music and freedom in this series.
